Beauty Restored

Revision rhinoplasty, also known as secondary rhinoplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to address unsatisfactory outcomes from a previous rhinoplasty or to correct new aesthetic or functional concerns that have arisen over time. Individuals may consider revision rhinoplasty to achieve improved nasal symmetry, refine the nasal tip, correct breathing difficulties, or address other issues that have not been adequately resolved by a prior rhinoplasty.

Is Revision Rhinoplasty Right for Me?

Rest assured, it’s common to question if any procedure is right for you. Typically, we’ve found that patients who get the most out of this procedure include:

  • Individuals who are dissatisfied with the results of a previous rhinoplasty
  • Those experiencing breathing difficulties due to nasal obstruction
  • Individuals seeking to correct asymmetry or deformities resulting from an earlier rhinoplasty
  • Those who have experienced trauma or injury to the nose following a previous rhinoplasty

Begin with a Consultation

We know that revision rhinoplasty, like any procedure, is a personal decision, and you need to feel seen and heard throughout your journey. Thus, we recommend beginning with a consultation at our Dallas office. Dr Beale will consult you during the initial visit and discuss your reasons for nose surgery to determine if it’s the right option. You will receive a thorough medical examination. If you are found to be an appropriate revision rhinoplasty candidate, he and his qualified staff will help you choose the procedure most suited to your body type and expected outcome.

The Day of Your Procedure

Rhinoplasty is typically performed using general anesthesia or a local anesthetic with IV sedation. The choice between a closed rhinoplasty inside the nostrils or an open rhinoplasty involving a small incision on the columella below the tip of the nose depends on the surgical plan devised during your consultation. The incision from an open rhinoplasty will become inconspicuous as it heals. Generally, the open technique is preferred for adequate access in the revision rhinoplasty procedure. But you can be sure Dr Beale will discuss the appropriate method during your initial visit.

I went in for a consultation with Dr Beale and immediately knew he was the right doctor for me. He is VERY easy to talk to (ask him any question and he will never make you feel dumb), also his staff is very knowledgeable and nice…I’m so happy with my decision – I feel complete. Thank you, Dr Beale!
