When you have excess skin and fat around your lower abdomen, diet and exercise often aren’t enough to get rid of it. Sagging tissue and fat in this part of your body can be extremely stubborn and make you feel self-conscious about your appearance. Although a tummy tuck is an effective option for tightening your abdomen, many patients don’t have enough excess skin and fat to qualify for the surgery. If you find yourself in this situation, a mini tummy tuck in Dallas could be the perfect alternative.

What Is a Mini Tummy Tuck?

A mini tummy tuck is a cosmetic surgical procedure used to tighten the abdominal muscles and remove excess skin and fat between the belly button and the pubic area. A mini tummy tuck is very similar to a traditional tummy tuck, but it’s typically performed on patients with less skin and fat that needs to be removed.

How Does a Mini Tummy Tuck Work?

During a mini tummy tuck, Dr Beale tightens muscles in the abdominal wall with sutures and trims excess abdominal skin. In some cases, liposuction is also used as part of a mini tummy tuck to remove pockets of excess fat. Unlike a traditional tummy tuck, the belly button is not removed or reconstructed.

Dr Beale did an amazing job on my tummy tuck and breast reduction/lift. I could not be happier. Dr Beale, Blake, Dawn & Heather are a great team who made me feel very comfortable from the very first visit!

What Should I Expect During the Surgery?

Before undergoing a mini tummy tuck in Dallas, you’ll sit down for a consultation with Dr Beale. During this meeting, Dr Beale will discuss the surgery with you and get a feel for your aesthetic goals. If you decide to move forward with the procedure, the doctor will work closely with you to put together a personalized treatment plan that meets your unique needs.

A mini tummy tuck is typically performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia and IV sedation. Once you’re sedated, Dr Beale will begin by making an incision in your lower abdomen. Next, he will tighten your muscles and remove excess skin as necessary for your treatment plan. He may also insert a narrow cannula to remove excess fat via liposuction. Finally, he will close your incision and bandage the treatment area. On average, the surgery takes between one and three hours to complete.
